Optimizing Togetherness, Thriving, Equality, and Resilience
Democracy & Governance
Real Democracy, Real Representation: Democracy must evolve beyond the limits of a two-party system. We support the creation of a multiparty, parliamentary-style representative government where coalitions reflect the full diversity of the public will. Ranked choice voting should replace winner-takes-all elections to empower voters with real choice and eliminate the spoiler effect. Gerrymandering must be ended. Additionally, elected officials who betray their constituents' trust should face fair, accessible recall procedures. Power must be accountable—not permanent.
Democracy, Not Dollars: Money must not speak louder than votes. Corporations should not be allowed to donate to political campaigns, and lobbying must be outlawed. Gifts, perks, and personal influence must be removed from the political process. Elections should be about ideas, not fundraising prowess. Until we sever the link between wealth and power, democracy remains compromised.
Governed by Wisdom, Not Ego: The President is not a monarch, but a manager—tasked with appointing and listening to the most qualified experts in their fields. Our government should be run by seasoned professionals: scientists guiding public health, economists shaping fiscal policy, and educators shaping schools. We must rebuild public trust in expertise and teach that effective leadership means knowing when to defer to knowledge, not charisma. The public deserves to understand not just who leads, but how and why decisions are made.
Economic Fairness
Capitalism with Boundaries: The role of government is to restrain the excesses of capitalism, ensuring that economic systems serve the public good rather than private greed. This includes actively regulating markets to prevent exploitation, corruption, and inequality.
Democratic Wealth, Not Oligarchic Power: No individual should accumulate enough wealth to exempt themselves from the responsibilities of citizenship or exert disproportionate influence over democracy. Progressive taxation must be strengthened, and the legal fiction that "money is speech" must be dismantled. Citizens United must be overturned to restore equal representation.
Solidarity Through Social Safety Nets: A just society ensures every person has access to food, shelter, education, and healthcare—not as charity, but as a shared investment in collective well-being. Supporting one another is the mark of a healthy nation, not a burden.
Labor with Dignity, Work with Justice: Every worker deserves safety, stability, and respect. Strong labor standards—like those enforced by OSHA—must be upheld, not only within workplaces but also to prevent industries from harming surrounding communities. Unions remain vital tools of protection, but a just government must ensure that worker rights are so robust, collective bargaining becomes a choice—not a necessity. Parental leave, healthcare, and fair wages are not perks—they are pillars of dignity.
Homes Are for Living, Not Flipping: Housing is a human right, not a speculative asset. The government must curb real estate speculation, prevent monopolistic land ownership, and eliminate commission-based realtor models that inflate prices with every transaction. Rent increases must be pegged to inflation, not profit. We believe in fair housing markets that serve people, not investors.
Integrity Before Investment: Public service must never be a path to personal profit. Members of Congress, the executive branch, and the judiciary must be barred from trading individual stocks. Like lockup periods in the private sector, only long-term investment in broad, diversified index funds should be permitted while in office. Laws should serve the people—not portfolios.
Social Justice & Well-Being
Healthcare as a Public Right, Not a Private Luxury: Essential healthcare is a public good and must be publicly funded, accessible to all regardless of income. Coverage includes preventative care, emergency services, chronic condition management, reproductive and mental health. Elective and non-essential procedures—like cosmetic surgery—should not draw from the public pool.
Raise the Future, Together: A nation that values its future must invest in its children. Childcare should be heavily subsidized to ensure every child, regardless of background, has a healthy, safe, and enriching start in life. Early care is not a private luxury—it's a public necessity. Supporting working families, uplifting childcare providers, and treating early childhood education as a cornerstone of national well-being is essential to long-term happiness, equity, and security.
Aging with Honor, Living with Dignity: Caring for our elders is the final expression of national gratitude. The government must ensure access to quality elder care—from in-home support to assisted living—so aging is met with comfort, not fear. We also envision community outreach programs where young people contribute time and care as a shared rite of passage, fostering empathy, service, and solidarity across generations. A nation that values its elders shows it not with words, but with care.
Access Is a Right, Not an Afterthought: People with disabilities deserve full and equal participation in every part of society. No government building should be inaccessible, and no system should overlook their needs. We must guarantee access to healthcare, meaningful employment, and independent living—whether with or without a care team. Disability justice means designing a world that welcomes everyone with dignity, not forcing people to fight for the bare minimum.
Education & Culture
Education for Enlightenment and Empowerment: A thriving society is built on universal education—not just for jobs, but for citizenship. Public education must be robust, free through higher education, and focused on critical thinking, scientific literacy, civic knowledge, and mutual understanding. We must prepare students to recognize injustice, respond in crisis, and participate meaningfully in democracy. Religious doctrine has no place in public education; reason, empathy, and shared truth must guide our learning.
Infrastructure & Rural Policy
Connect the Country, Empower the Periphery: Rural America is not a relic—it's a vital part of our future. We must ensure universal access to healthcare, high-speed broadband, and modern education in every corner of the country. A robust national public transit system can link rural and urban economies, letting people live affordably while contributing to thriving cities. When we connect the disconnected, we lift the whole nation.
Environment & Global Responsibility
Earth First, Beyond Borders: The climate is a shared inheritance that transcends nations, borders, and ideologies. A plane taking off in Texas changes the weather in Thailand. The United States owes all nations a commitment to drastically reduce emissions, invest in clean energy, and hold itself accountable for its environmental footprint. We must regulate industry, protect ecosystems, and pursue a future where human activity harmonizes with nature. Climate justice is global justice.
Foreign Policy with a Moral Spine: The United States must lead not through domination, but through example. Foreign aid builds goodwill and durable partnerships. Diplomacy should be extended to nations that uphold democracy, human rights, and free expression. Regimes that persecute, exploit, or endanger vulnerable groups must face economic isolation and moral condemnation. Trade is not neutral—it must align with our values.
Digital & Civil Liberties
Digital Rights Are Human Rights: In the digital age, privacy is freedom. Data belongs to the individual—not corporations, not governments. Conversations with lawyers, doctors, and AI must be sacrosanct, shielded from surveillance or coercion. Thought must remain free. At the same time, internet access is a modern necessity and should be treated as a public utility—but its design must elevate knowledge, not addiction. A democratic digital future means open libraries, not exploitative scroll feeds.
Earned Belonging, Not Bought Access: Those who live and work in our society—contributing through taxes and labor—deserve access to its benefits. But citizenship is a deeper bond, one earned through lawful commitment, not purchased through wealth. We support clear, humane pathways to citizenship that reward perseverance and discourage shortcuts that undermine the meaning of national belonging.
